A 30-year-old man was shot in the leg last night after an altercation at a diner in Charlottesville.

The shooting took place outside of Holly’s Diner at 1221 E. Market St., according to the Charlottesville Police Department.

At 11:23 p.m., officers were sent to the scene where they discovered the victim outside the restaurant.

The victim was transported to UVA Medical Center for treatment.

The initial investigation indicates that a ruckus inside the establishment led to the shooting outside.

It is believed that the suspect and victim are known to each other, according to the Charlottesville Police Department.
