Charlottesville: Police name second man wanted in Downtown Mall shooting

The Charlottesville Police Department has released the name of a man wanted in connection to a shooting on June 14 on the Downtown Mall.

Tylek Wade Burley, 28, is currently wanted on multiple charges.

He has been charged with the following offenses: malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and felon in possession of a firearm.

Lorenzo McAllister, 34, has also been arrested in the shooting. He faces charges including reckless handling of a firearm, possession of a concealed firearm and discharging a firearm within 1,000 feet of a school.

On June 14, at 1:40 a.m., a man was shot in the leg near Fitzroy on the Downtown Mall in Charlottesville. The victim was transported to UVA Medical Center. According to police, the fight likely started inside the establishment and continued outside where the shooting occurred.

This was the second shooting on the Downtown Mall in one week. On June 7, a 25-year-old man was shot at 1:26 a.m. He was in critical condition after the shooting.

Burley has faced previous charges for rape, forgery, speeding, robbery, trespassing and grand larceny, according to online court records.
