Charlottesville Police investigating reported attempted murder-suicide

Charlottesville Police are investigating a double-shooting reported on Thursday as an attempted murder-suicide involving an elderly couple.

Brenda Lois Lambert, 81, was found dead at the scene on Thursday, and James Marvin Shea Jr., 85, was found at the scene with serious injuries.

Shea was transported to UVA Hospital, where he is currently in stable condition, according to police.

A press release from the Charlottesville PD reported that the investigation into the shooting turned up evidence indicating that the shooting was a planned suicide by the married couple.
