A Charlottesville man upset about an incorrect food order is in jail after allegedly making threats to harm employees.

Anthony M. Scott, 45, is being held on a secured bond at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail.

The Albemarle County Police Department arrested Scott after an incident at the Bojangles on Abbey Road in Pantops.

On Wednesday, Dec.31, staff reported receiving threatening phone calls.

Following an investigation, detectives were able to identify the suspect.

On Tuesday, Jan. 20, ACPD executed a search warrant with the assistance of the Charlottesville Police Department.

Detectives recovered a firearm and ammunition at the residence and were able to take Scott into custody without incident.

A K-9 dog trained for explosives was utilized during the search warrant, but no explosive devices or materials were located.

ACPD has charged Scott with two felonies:

  • threats to bomb, burn, destroy or discharge a firearm at a building (§18.2-83)
  • possession of a firearm by a previously convicted felon (§18.2-308.2)
