Campaign trail brings full weekend of Labor Day celebrations for Sen. Tim Kaine in Virginia

From Friday, August 30 to Monday, September 2, 2024, Sen. Tim Kaine has a weekend full of traditional campaign Labor Day events.

Kaine, who is running for reelection to the U.S. Senate in Virginia in November’s election, is celebrating 30 years in elected office this year. He is excited to speak with different constituencies across the Commonwealth who are ready to vote blue in November.

On Friday, August 30, Kaine will participate in an education appreciation event with Educators for Harris-Walz in Manassas.

On Saturday, August 31, he will help kickoff canvassing with Latinos con Harris y Walz in Sterling from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Sterling Community Center, 120 Enterprise St., Sterling.

On Sunday, September 1, Kaine will attend the Virginia AFL-CIO Labor Day picnic in Alexandria from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at Fort Hunt Park – Pavilion A, 8999 Fort Hunt Rd., Alexandria.

Then, he will attend the Harrisonburg Democrats Labor Day Dinner in Harrisonburg from 6 to 7 p.m. at the JMU Festival Conference Center, 1301 Carrier Dr., Harrisonburg.

On Monday, September 2, Kaine will begin the day in Buena Vista with the 43rd Democratic Labor Day breakfast from 7:30 to 9 a.m. to kick off the official election season and get out the vote for the democratic ticket. The breakfast will be held at Parry McCluer High School, 100 Bradford Rd., Buena Vista.

He will then march in the Buena Vista Labor Day Parade from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and give a rally speech at 11 a.m. at Glen Maury Park, 100 Glen Maury Park Rd., Buena Vista.

Afterward, he will attend Bobby Scott’s Labor Day Cookout from 3 to 6 p.m. at 914 Shore Drive in Newport News.
