Club America, a project of Turning Point USA that “mobilizes America’s spirited, anti-woke warriors” in high schools, is coming under fire after the mayor of a California city told a student group there that the separation of church and state is a myth, and relayed TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk’s belief that Martin Luther King Jr. was a Marxist.

“Martin Luther King was a Marxist, and he loved socialism, and a lot of the civil rights things that he advocated for were not really helpful. Now, there’s a lot of research to that, but we can argue about that,” said Holly Andreatta, the mayor of Lincoln, California, in remarks to the new Club America chapter at Twelve Bridges High School on Thursday, in which she also tried to tie an unidentified childhood trauma experienced by her now-adult daughter to the daughter coming out as a lesbian.

“That’s a little bit of internal struggle for me, because I believe that marriage is between a man and a woman, and I believe that Scripture is very clear on homosexuality, but on the other side of that, I love her dearly. We are in relationship, and that’s what Charlie Kirk’s message was. It’s like, we may not agree. My daughter knows where I stand biblically, but I love her,” said Andreatta, whose online bio lists her as an alum of Bethany Bible College, a private Christian school that closed in 2011, and as an advancement officer at William Jessup University, another private Christian school that is known for having a partial exemption to federal Title IX law allowing the school to legally discriminate against LGBT students for religious reasons.

Big surprise that someone with that background would also go on to tell students that “separation of church and state is a myth, it’s not in the Constitution, and to argue that the Framers’ intent was to ensure that the government had “no right to set up a religion like England had,” not preclude religion from playing a role in political matters.

And here we’re being told constantly by that side that they don’t want indoctrination in our schools.

Local Club America chapters

A student group at Twelve Bridges has launched a drive to get the high school to disband the Club America chapter.

That effort is being led by Twelve Bridges senior Rebecca Warner, who identifies as a lesbian, who told the Sacramento Bee that she was approached by a student leaving the meeting who made a hurtful comment about her sexuality.

“One student told me they learned that God was working on me because I’ve endured trauma, causing me to become gay,” Warner said.
