The River City Radio Hour, Kid’s Avenue and the Wayne Theatre Alliance Children’s Hour mark a busy schedule of events for Third Fridays in Downtown Waynesboro.

The Radio Hour

The River City Radio Hour April 16th performances will bring the Blues to downtown Waynesboro. Heading the featured musicians will be Dr. Levine and the Dreaded Blues Lady Lorie Strother. At their last Radio Hour performance, the two got rave reviews from the audience.

Ms. Strother with her soulful voice and Dr. Levine with his expert blues guitar styles combine to give an authentic voice to American Blues.

Contributing to the Evening of Blues will be Kevin Chisnell and Llyn Walker. Chisnell brings a husky voice and a wailing harmonic to the stage. Walker is a favorite Radio Hour performer who can slip from jazz to pop to blues with style and presence.

They are both supported by the dynamic trio of The Boogie Kings. Led by Richard Adams with William Hayes on keyboard and J.T. Fauber on percussion, they are the musical heart of River City Radio Hour.

April 16 marks the final installment of Bob Crawford’s Night Hawk and Murder at Stan’s TV and Appliances. In the third chapter, Chester Burch, aka the Night Hawk, learns that the murderer has struck again. He quickly mobilizes his forces to solve the crime and bring the murderer or perhaps murderers to justice.

Also on the program is Marsha Howard, Waynesboro’s Lady of Laughter. While her March performance won the admiration of her audiences, she promises to bring a new level of fun to the evening.

April’s Radio Hour guest will be Bob Crawford.

The April 16th performances of River City Radio Hour are at 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the Blue Ridge Christian Fellowship at 329 W. Main St. Seating is limited. Sell-outs are a regular occurrence for the Radio Hour. Reserved seats are available for the Radio Hour for $7.50.

Call 540.943.9999 to make a reservation.

Doors open at 6 p.m. for the first performance.

The Radio Hour is a production of the Wayne Theatre Alliance with funding from the Waynesboro Cultural Commission, the City of Waynesboro, and the Virginia Commission for the Arts.
