Homeowners in Charlottesville and Albemarle County have access to help with HVAC repairs, through an initiative from Building Goodness Foundation and Beck Cohen.
Beck Cohen, a local HVAC service company, is donating services and materials to homes in need of critical heating and cooling repairs identified through BGF’s C’ville Builds program.
C’ville Builds was established to provide construction repairs and services for people in the Charlottesville-Albemarle area.
Working with local companies to maximize efficiency and funding, C’ville Builds supports more than 50 projects for small businesses, nonprofits and homeowners annually.
Beck Cohen and BGF aim to assist multiple households per year with critical HVAC replacements; donations of in-kind labor, equipment, and monthly service calls are estimated to total $72,000 annually.
“Our first project in partnership with Beck Cohen has already made a tremendous difference for an elderly family this winter,” said Courtney Polk, the executive director at BGF. “Like so many local families, they have serious health conditions, are on a fixed income, and they have been without heat all winter. Through the generosity of Beck Cohen and our local community, this family is one of many who will no longer face the Virginia winter without heat.”
