Chris Graham

harperWashington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper was unanimous choice for National League Most Valuable Player in balloting announced on Thursday, taking all 30 first-place votes to easily outdistance Arizona’s Paul Goldschmidt and Cincinnati’s Joey Votto.

Harper, 23, is the youngest unanimous MVP in MLB history, and one of just seven players to get a unanimous nod in most valuable player voting.

The three-year veteran had a .330/.460/.649 slash line, with an NL-leading 42 homers and 99 RBI and a National League-best 118 runs.

His .649 slugging percentage and .460 on-base percentage led the majors, as did his 9.9 wins above replacement.

His .330 batting average was second in the National League to Dee Gordon, who hit .333.

Harper ranked fourth among NL right fielders with seven defensive runs saved and was a Gold Glove finalist.
