Bryce Harper hit a tie-breaking two-run homer in the seventh to lift the Washington Nationals to a 5-3 win over the Miami Marlins on Friday.
Harper’s homer, his 11th of the season, broke a 2-2 tie. Stephen Drew and Chris Heisey each hit pinch-hit home runs for Washington (22-13).
Blake Treinen (3-1, 4.20 ERA) vultured the win in two innings of relief.
Nats starter Gio Gonzalez got a no-decision in five innings of work, allowing two unearned runs on six hits, striking out seven and walking two.
Harper was 2-for-2 at the plate with two walks.
The 2015 NL MVP is 5-for-14 hitting over his most recent eight games with 20 bases on balls.
