The Boys & Girls Club of Waynesboro, Staunton and Augusta County raised more than $40,000 at its annual golf tournament, a record-breaking amount.

The 2025 Great Futures Golf Tournament raised nearly $42,000.  The event was held June 15 at Gypsy Hill Golf Course in Staunton.

The annual golf tournament raised $31,000 in 2024 and $25,000 in 2023.

With rising program demands, the event’s success could not have come at a better time.

“It was an incredible day of fun, generosity and heart,” said Debra Freeman, CEO of the local Boys & Girls Club. “This tournament wasn’t just about golf. It was about helping more kids have a safe place to belong this summer — and making sure we’re ready to serve again when the school year begins.”

As the club wraps up summer camp and prepares for the 2025–26 school year, planning and fundraising continue to ensure more children across the SAW region have what they need to be successful.
