Ninth District Congressman Rick Boucher and a group of local Democratic committee chairs have jumped on board the Jon Bowerbank for lieutenant governor bandwagon.
“Jon Bowerbank is a long-time friend of mine, and I am pleased to endorse his candidacy for lieutenant governor of Virginia,” said Boucher, a Democrat. “As an entrepreneur in Russell County, Jon has demonstrated his ability to create high paying jobs. He has two decades of experience meeting the challenges of the energy sector. Jon’s commitment to economic development, finding energy solutions, and investing in our infrastructure will be an asset to Virginia when he is elected Lieutenant Governor,” Boucher said.

Bowerbank is a member of the Russell County Board of Supervisors. He is one of two candidates vying for the Democratic Party nomination to run for lieutenant governor. Former Secretary of Finance Jody Wagner is also in the running for the nomination, which will be decided in a June party primary.

Nine Democratic committee chairs added their names to the list of Bowerbank endorsees recently as well. The list includes John Garner of Galax, Dennis Gillenwater of Scott County,. Anita Hartke of Culpepper County, Gracie Hensley of Norton, Robert Kegley of Wythe County, David Larimer of Tazewell County, Brian Patton of Dickenson County, Bruce Roemmelt in Prince William County, and E.J. Scott in Manassas/Manassas Park.
