Baltimore takes series opener with Cleveland

baltimore oriolesA Mark Trumbo three-run first-inning homer staked Baltimore to an early lead in what turned into a 5-1 win over Cleveland on Friday.

Trumbo (.284/.337/.565, 29 HR, 71 RBI) and Manny Machado (.314/.374/.560, 20 HR, 55 RBI) each went deep for the O’s (55-40).

Dylan Bundy (3-2, 3.30 ERA, 1.53 WHIP) earned the win, giving up a run on five hits in five innings of work, striking out five without issuing a walk.

Zach Britton (31 saves, 0.65 ERA, 0.80 WHIP) worked out of an inherited bases-loaded jam in the ninth to record a one-out save.
