Baltimore Orioles lose at Toronto: AL East race tightens

baltimore oriolesToronto jumped on Orioles starter Kevin Gausman early in a 6-5 win over Baltimore on Friday night.

The Blue Jays (58-45) are now a half-game behind the O’s (58-44) in the AL East.

Gausman (2-8, 4.18 ERA, 1.32 WHIP) was touched up for six runs on six hits in three innings of work, including giving up three solo homers in the first – to Jose Bautista, Edwin Encarnacion and Troy Tulowitzki.

Manny Machado (.309/.370/.554, 22 HR, 58 RBI) hit a solo homer in the eighth for Baltimore, which has lost four straight.
