Sanchez (13-2, 2.88 ERA, 1.16 WHIP) struck out two and walked three in the win for the Blue Jays (76-57), who are now four games ahead of the Orioles (72-61) in the AL East.
Jonathan Schoop (.282/.315/.477, 21 HR, 70 RBI) was 3-for-5 with a two-run homer in the ninth for Baltimore, which has lost five of its last seven.
Yovani Gallardo (4-7, 5.62 ERA, 1.62 WHIP) took the loss, giving up three runs on five hits in six innings of work.
The O’s are now tied with Detroit for the second wild-card spot in the AL.
