Baltimore defeats Tampa Bay, 4-0

lgo_mlb_baltimore_oriolesMiguel Gonzalez and Brad Brach combined on a four-hit shutout, leading Baltimore to a 4-0 win over Tampa Bay on Saturday.

Baltimore is playing the weekend series in Tampa as the home team. The games were moved to Florida due to safety concerns related to ongoing unrest in Baltimore in the wake of the death of a man in police custody last month.

Gonzalez (3-1) gave up four hits in seven and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking one. Brach retired each of the four hitters that he faced to record his first save of the season.

Chris Archer (3-3) gave up four runs on six hits in six innings, striking out five and walking four.

A Chris Davis RBI single and a Steve Pearce two-run double keyed a three-run Orioles third. A Caleb Joseph solo homer in the sixth off Archer provided the game’s other run.
