Chris Graham

augusta-health-headerThe Augusta Health Cancer Program will celebrate National Cancer Survivor Day on Sunday, June 1 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Augusta Community Care Building.

National Cancer Survivor Day is an annual celebration of life held in hundreds of communities around the United States. It is a day to honor everyone who is living with a history of cancer.

Augusta Health’s program will include recognition of survivors, remarks by physician speakers—Annie Nedrow, MD, MBA, Associate Director of Duke Integrative Medicine; Laura Gonzalez, MD; William Jones, MD and William Thompson, MD with survivors; a Victory Walk, and information booths and refreshments.

Musical entertainment, sponsored by the Augusta Health Foundation, will be provided by the Steve Plumbley A Cancer Survivor is, by definition, anyone living with cancer—from the moment of diagnosis through the remainder of life. National Cancer Survivor Day is a time to celebrate milestones, recognized healthcare providers and family and friends who provide support, and to honor all the survivors who demonstrate every day that life after a cancer diagnosis is meaningful, productive and rewarding.

Reservations are not required, but registration for this free event helps make accurate plans. The Registration Line is 540.245.7910.
