Augusta County authorities tipped off, make arrest of man wanted for assault

A man with a lengthy rap sheet was arrested in Augusta County Thursday night on outstanding warrants in Rockingham County, Lexington, Waynesboro and Staunton.

Justin Neil Johnson was taken into custody without incident at a home on Wilda Road in Stuarts Draft at approximately 10 p.m. According to the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the address after a tip from authorities in Rockingham County.

Johnson is being held without bond at Middle River Regional Jail.

The most recent charges against him stem from an incident on Thursday in Rockingham County. He faces charges of destruction of property, abduction by force, assault and battery and tampering with a vehicle.

In Waynesboro, he faces two misdemeanor theft charges from February, according to online court records.

In Lexington, he faces one count of shoplifting.

He also faces numerous probation violations in Rockingham County, Staunton and Waynesboro.

His next court appearance is scheduled for Monday.
