Augusta County ’09 reassessment

Contributors

Property assessments in Augusta County are up nearly 30 percent countywide, and individual property owners are seeing increases as much as 300 percent.
A citizens group is leading an effort to get the Augusta County Board of Supervisors to consider delaying the implementation of the new assessments.

County leaders, for the most part, are balking at the idea, citing state law as a guide in one respect and indications that they think point to the ultimate accuracy of the assessments.
