Art Opening in Staunton on April 13

Contributors

The public is invited to the Art Opening this Friday, April 13 in the Staunton Augusta Art Center galleries at the Smith Center (20 S. New Street in historic Downtown Staunton).

Drop by anytime between 5 and 7pm and meet painter/printmaker Ed Bordett.  Bordett won Best in Show at Art in the Park in 2011 and he has created new works just for this exhibition.

Originally from Long Island and now settled in Fincastle, Bordett’s large paintings skillfully reflect New York City architecture and the movement of light and its patterns on angles and shapes. His new works also include small town subjects, some in Staunton.

Bordett invites the viewer to see beyond the obvious to discover ever-present but not easily seen underlying abstract designs of a structure or scene.

The exhibit will be up through June 3.  Regular gallery hours are 10am-5pm M-F, 10am-1pm Sa, and 1-4pm Su.  There is no charge to visit the gallery or to attend the reception and all are welcome.

For further information, visit www.saartcenter.org or call 540.885-2028.
