The Albemarle County Board of Supervisors has appointed Claudette Borgersen as Clerk for the Board of Supervisors.
The position of Clerk for the Board of Supervisors is essential to efficient performance by board members of their elected duties and responsibilities, and to the provision of services to members of the public.
Borgersen brings to this role extensive expertise working with boards and committees, state and local government officials, and interest groups. Additional skills include office management and supervisory experience.
“Ms. Borgersen’s credentials and experience made her an ideal candidate for this role,” said Board Chair Liz Palmer. “The Board believes the public will be well served by the addition of Ms. Borgersen to the Board office. She has a strong interest in local government and will provide excellent support and leadership.“
Borgersen earned her Bachelors of Arts in Government from Shippensburg University in 1990. She served in the U.S. Army for 13 years as both an enlisted service member and as a commissioned officer specializing as a personnel systems manager where she received six Army Achievement Awards, three Army Commendation Medals, and the Parachutist Badge.
After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Army, Borgersen served as the executive assistant to the CEO of the Charlottesville Area Association of Realtors®, the administrative assistant to the dean of Piedmont Virginia Community College and she worked as the education office coordinator at Ash Lawn-Highland.
Most recently, Borgersen has served as an operations assistant at Old Dominion University.
