Andy Herrick, who has served as the interim county attorney in Albemarle County since Sept. 1, has been given the job on a full-time basis.
Herrick’s appointment was confirmed by the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors this week.
Herrick had been the deputy county attorney under Steven Rosenberg, the former Staunton city manager, before Rosenberg’s retirement, which was effective on Sept. 1.
Prior to his tenure in Albemarle County, Herrick served as assistant county attorney for James City County and practiced law in Williamsburg, including working with the Williamsburg city attorney.
Herrick earned his undergraduate degree, law degree and MBA from the College of William & Mary.
“I am deeply honored to be entrusted with this role,” Herrick said. “It has been a privilege to work with the Board of Supervisors, our talented staff, dedicated colleagues, and an engaged community. I look forward to leading the County Attorney’s Office as we continue to support the County’s mission and navigate opportunities ahead.”
