Inside the Numbers: The top-rated radio stations in the Harrisonburg market

radioTwo country stations sit atop the ratings in the Harrisonburg radio market in the most recent Nielsen Audio Quarterly Report.

WKCY and WSIG are the top two stations in the market, with WKCY registering a 14.4 rating in the Spring 2014 survey to post its second consecutive ratings win after leading the way in Fall 2013 with a 12.5 rating.

WSIG was second with a 9.9 rating in Spring 2014, down from an 11.6 rating in Fall 2013.

Q-101, WQPO, was third in the Spring 2014 ratings, with a 9.0 rating. Q-101 had been tied for second in the Fall 2013 ratings with an 11.6 after being in a tie for first in the previous two ratings cycles.

Rounding out the top four is news station WSVA, which registered a 7.2 rating in Spring 2014, down from an 8.0 in Fall 2013.

The ratings reflect the quarter-hour share of the Harrisonburg radio market, which comprised 113,200 people in Spring 2014.

There are no ratings available for the Charlottesville radio market because Nielsen doesn’t track radio ratings in that market.
