ACC Power Rankings: Everybody’s beating everybody

accNow it’s getting hard to make sense of where things stand in the ACC, at the top, in the middle, even at the bottom.

Duke lost at Notre Dame last week, then won at UVA. Louisville avenged its loss in Chapel Hill and beat UNC at home in overtime. Notre Dame lost on the road at Pitt, and Miami lost at Florida State. Neither of those last two make any sense.

We get a better sense of where things shake out at the top of the pack tonight with third-ranked UVA traveling to #13 UNC, and then on Saturday we get #8 Notre Dame-#4 Duke in Durham and #9 Louisville-#3 Virginia in Charlottesville.

 

ACC Power Rankings: Week 4

  1. UVA (19-1, 7-1 ACC): Moving week with UNC and Louisville on tap. Up, or down?
  2. Duke (18-3, 5-3 ACC): Was that the real Duke team in the final five minutes at UVA?
  3. Notre Dame (20-3, 8-2 ACC): Sweep Duke?
  4. Louisville (18-3, 6-2 ACC): Way to get up off the canvas at home Saturday against UNC.
  5. UNC (17-5, 7-2 ACC): Hold serve at home tonight vs. UVA, and the Heels are serious contenders.
  6. Syracuse (14-7, 5-3 ACC): This is where we begin Best of the Rest.
  7. Miami (14-7, 4-4 ACC): Inexplicable loss to FSU.
  8. N.C. State (14-9, 5-5 ACC): No longer an NCAA lock. Lots of work to do.
  9. Clemson (13-8, 5-4 ACC): Five ACC wins? Really?
  10. Pitt (14-8, 4-5 ACC): Season-saving win vs. Notre Dame.
  11. Florida State (12-10, 4-5 ACC): Big win vs. Miami. Different team the past two weeks.
  12. Wake Forest (10-12, 2-7 ACC): Best of the lower rung.
  13. Virginia Tech (9-12, 1-7 ACC): First ACC win last week vs. Pitt.
  14. Boston College (9-11, 1-7 ACC): A tough out, but retired often enough nonetheless.
  15. Georgia Tech (10-11, 1-8 ACC): Nice effort vs. N.C. State.
