boyerswithacclogoThe Atlantic Coast Conference mascots will participate in a Read 2 Succeed Assembly at Morehead Elementary School (9:30 – 11 am) and visit Brenner Children’s Hospital (2-4 pm), part of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, as part of an outreach initiative for the 2014 ACC Tournament.  During the visits, children will have the opportunity to learn more about and have their photo taken with their favorite ACC mascots.

About Morehead Elementary School: At Morehead Elementary, teachers, students and parents collaborate to set high expectations and provide a quality education, while celebrating diversity and the arts in a respectful and safe environment.

About Read 2 Succeed: WFMY News 2 and Guilford County Schools are working together to put books in the hands of students and help reach the goal of reading 3 million by the end of the year. Every week, The Good Morning Show will personally deliver the message about literacy by visiting local elementary and middle schools. The team has created a fun and interactive assembly program designed to excite students about reading. Most importantly, these assemblies will reinforce the connection between good reading skills and success in life.

About Brenner Children’s Hospital:  Brenner Children’s Hospital is the pediatric arm of Wake Forest Baptist. It is the only children’s hospital in northwest North Carolina serving western North Carolina, as well as parts of Virginia, South Carolina, and Tennessee. More than 4,500 children are admitted to Brenner Children’s Hospital each year. In addition, more than 21,000 pediatric subspecialty visits occur annually at the hospital-based outpatient clinics.
