george-mason2Just weeks away from its official entrance into the Atlantic 10 Conference, the George Mason men’s basketball team now knows who it will face when it enters the 16-game league slate in January, as the A-10 officially released the men’s basketball conference schedule pairings on Wednesday.

The pairings, which are for the 2013-14 season only, include home-and-home series for the Patriots against Duquesne, George Washington, Saint Louis and Massachusetts.  In home action at the Patriot Center, Mason will welcome Dayton, Richmond, St. Bonaventure and Saint Joseph’s.

Road trips to Fordham (Bronx, N.Y.), La Salle (Philadelphia), Rhode Island (Kingston, R.I.) and longtime rival VCU (Richmond) await the Green and Gold in their inaugural season of Atlantic 10 play.

All 13 members will compete for the Atlantic 10 title, with the conference championship being held once again at the state-of-the-art Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., from March 13-16, 2014.

Mason’s non-conference schedule will be released this summer, while the Patriots’ complete schedule including dates and times will be announced at a later date.
