Virginia-VCU Series
Virginia holds a 37-19 lead in its all-time series with VCU. UVa has won the last 14 meetings with the Rams, all during the tenure of the current coaching staff (since 2004). VCU’s last win against UVa came in 2003. The Cavaliers have won their last five trips to The Diamond.

Noting VCU
VCU holds a 15-11 record and is 2-1 in Atlantic 10 play after taking two of three games from Massachusetts last weekend at The Diamond. Reigning A-10 Player of the Week Vimael Machin leads the team in batting (.363), hits (37) and RBI (23), while the Rams are batting .272 as a team. VCU’s pitching has been excellent as the Rams own a 2.84 team ERA while limiting opponents to a .220 batting average.

Virginia-VMI Series
Virginia holds a 102-30 lead in its all-time series with VMI. Last year the Keydets won in Charlottesville for the first time since 1990, scoring a 3-2 victory over the Cavaliers. It was one of just four home losses that UVa suffered in 2014.

Noting VMI
VMI is 6-14 this season (2-4 SoCon) after dropping two of three games to Samford in a home Southern Conference series last weekend. The Keydets also play on Tuesday as they travel to Virginia Tech. Ray Lopez tops the team in batting at .381, while Jordan Tarsovich is hitting .337. VMI is batting .263 as a team and owns a 6.35 team ERA.

Up Next
Virginia remains home this weekend as it plays host to No. 7 Louisville in the first-ever meetings between the programs, both of which reached the College World Series last season. The teams play at 4 p.m. Saturday, 1 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Monday. The Monday contest will be broadcast by ESPNU.
