$10 dispute leads to Waynesboro arrest

Chris Graham

Reed, Paul DavidThe Waynesboro Police Department arrested a city man after a dispute with a neighbor over a small sum of money led to an altercation Sunday afternoon.  Officers charged Paul David Reed, 58 years old, with one felony count of grand larceny/pick pocketing and then obtained a narcotics search warrant for his residence.  This all stemmed from Reed’s demand of repayment of a $10 debt.

On Sunday at approximately 4:15 p.m., officers responded to Park Station Villas located in the 200 block of North Commerce Avenue for a report of a strong armed robbery.  When officers arrived, they spoke with the victim, a 51 year old Waynesboro man, who claimed that Reed grabbed a $10 bill out of his hand and assaulted him.  An officer found Reed at his apartment nearby with the money still in his hand.  Both Reed and the victim told the officers that they were going to have a prescription drug transaction. However, when the victim produced the $10 for the drug, Reed grabbed the money that he claimed the victim owed him, pushed the victim down and left.  No drug deal took place.  Officers arrested Reed at the scene.

After his arrest, officers searched Reed and found cash and suspected methamphetamine on him.  This led officers to get a narcotics search warrant for Reed’s apartment.

Reed was released on bond.  Additional charges for narcotics are pending

I’m totally on the side of Dianna Russini in this generated controversy over her being caught holding hands, hugging and lounging in a hot tub with New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel. Seriously, what sportswriter isn’t holding hands, hugging and lounging in hot tubs with coaches they cover? Just last week, for instance, Ryan Odom,...
