The top-ranked UVa. baseball team continues its homestand this weekend with a three-game series against Monmouth. Game times are slated for 3 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Because of the forecast for cool temperatures, hot chocolate and coffee will be free at the concession stands while supplies last.

A live video broadcast will be available for the Friday and Sunday games through a Cavaliers Live subscription on VirginiaSports.com. Live audio will be available Saturday. Live statistics (GameTracker) for all three games will be located on VirginiaSports.com. The video, audio and live stats also can be accessed through the Virginia Sports app, which is available through iTunes.
Parking Information
Because of the men’s basketball game against Syracuse, baseball parking on Saturday is limited to the Emmet/Ivy Garage.
Parking is available in the University Hall, McCue and John Paul Jones Arena lots on Friday and Sunday.

General Admission tickets: $8 (adults), $6 (youth -18 and under, seniors – 60 and over, and UVa faculty/staff – limit two with valid university ID)
Groups (20+): $6 each (Reserved bleacher seats), $5 each (General Admission)
Reserved bleacher tickets offer seating in sections A-G. General Admission seating is located in the left and right field bleachers (sections H-R) and on the grassy hillside.
Customers may purchase tickets by visiting VirginiaSports.com, calling (800) 542-UVA1 or by visiting the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office in Bryant Hall during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Tickets also will be sold at the Davenport Field ticket windows beginning two hours prior to each home game.

Fisher Scorching to Start Season
Derek Fisher has been UVa’s top hitter in the early going, with 13 hits in 30 at bats (.433). The ACC Player of the Week last week, Fisher owns hits in seven of the eight games. He has six multiple-hit games.
Papi Back At It
After an All-America campaign in 2013, Mike Papi has come out of the gates strong again this year. Papi is batting .387 and leads the team in on-base percentage (.487) and runs (10). He also is second in RBI with 10. He is the lone Cavalier to own hits in all eight games this year; he and Branden Cogswell are the only UVa players to reach base in every contest in 2014.
Pitchers Buckle Down After Opener
Since UVa surrendered eight runs in its season-opening loss to Kentucky, the Cavaliers have surrendered three runs or fewer in each of the last seven games. Cavaliers pitchers have rolled up a 1.43 ERA and allowed just 38 hits and 19 walks in the last seven games. The Cavaliers also boast two shutouts in this stretch.
Virginia-Monmouth Series
Virginia and Monmouth have played three times previously, with the Cavaliers sweeping a series in Charlottesville from Feb. 24-26, 2012. UVa won the games by 18-4, 7-1 and 13-1 counts.
Previewing Monmouth
Monmouth went 1-2 last weekend in its season-opening series at Florida Atlantic. Coming off a 30-24-1 season, the Hawks’ original opening weekend, a four-game tournament in Cary, N.C., was cancelled because of weather.
Andrew McGee was named the MAAC Pitcher of the Week following his complete-game performance in a 5-1 series-opening win at FAU; he allowed an unearned run and four hits. Steve Wilgus leads the team with a .462 batting average after going 6-for-13 in the opening weekend.

Virginia concludes its nine-game homestand with a pair of midweek games next week. The Cavaliers face George Washington Tuesday (March 4) and Old Dominion Wednesday (March 5); first pitch for both contests is 3 p.m. UVa travels to Duke next weekend (March 7-9) to begin ACC play.
