#1 UVa. baseball breezes past George Washington, 10-0

uva-logo-new2A four-run second inning set the tone for an easy 10-0 victory for the top-ranked UVa. baseball team over George Washington Wednesday at Davenport Field in Charlottesville.

Brandon Cogswell keyed the offense for UVa. (25-4), going 4-for-5 with two RBIs. mike papi also reached base four times, all on walks, three of them intentional.

Kenny Towns and John LaPrise each had two hits for the Cavs, who won their eighth in a row.

Pitching came from a staff effort. Artie Lewicki (2-0) started and went three innings, giving up a bunt single. David Rosenberger put up two scoreless innings, with Austin Young and Cameron Tekker finishing up with two scoreless innings apiece.

GW (7-18) managed only six hits on the evening, and the UVa. staff combined to strike out four and walk one.
