A Greg Bird three-run homer broke a 5-5 tie, lifting the New York Yankees to an 8-6 win over the Baltimore Orioles on Monday at Yankee Stadium.
Manny Machado had just tied the game in the top of the seventh with a solo homer, his 27th of the season.
Bird connected off Brian Matusz with two on in the bottom of the seventh.
Jorge Rondon (0-1, 10.32 ERA) took the loss for the O’s (65-72).
