Waynesboro Public Library will be able to accept credit cards, debit cards, and electronic checks through Paymentus starting Monday, September 8. Visa, MasterCard, and Discover will be accepted for fees related to users’ accounts, computer printing, and faxing. Excluded from credit card payments are Friends of the Library books and copying.
Waynesboro Public Library Director Zahir Mahmoud said, “A credit card payment provides a convenient way to pay an outstanding balance since few people carry cash anymore. When our patrons pay their fines and cost of materials they have lost, it will generate revenue for the City of Waynesboro.”
In addition to paying at the library, payments may also be made online or by phone. A link on the library’s homepage at www.waynesboropubliclibrary.org will redirect to the payment center. Phone payments can made by calling 1-877-318-5780.
It will take a day or two for accounts to be updated after paying online or by phone. Also, there is a charge for using this service: 2.75% of the amount or $1, whichever is greater. Please call Waynesboro Public Library at 540-942-6746 with any questions.
