JMU football hosts Albany on Saturday

Chris Graham

jmu logoJames Madison will host the University of Albany in a Colonial Athletic Association football game Saturday.  The contest will kick off at 1:30 p.m. before a sold out Family Weekend crowd at Bridgeforth Stadium and Zane Showker Field.   Saturday’s game will be the first between the programs as UAlbany is in its first season as a member of the CAA.

JMU is 3-0 at home this season, but 3-2 overall after dropping a 29-22 decision at Delaware last Saturday in the CAA opener for both schools.  The Dukes rolled up more than 400 yards of total offense, but Delaware took advantage of two scoring drives of 15 yards to overcome a 19-7 halftime deficit.

UAlbany, a former member of the Northeast Conference, is 1-4 after a 66-10 drubbing at FBS-bound Old Dominion and is 0-1 in the CAA with a 19-13 overtime loss at home to Rhode Island.

Coach Matthews discussed key moments and tendencies from the game against Delaware.
