Second Wind’s First Class Held

AFP

The very first class offered under the new Second Wind program in Highland County was a square dance class at the Bolar Ruritan Club attended by 10 individuals.

Ellen and Eugene Ratcliff volunteered their time to teach this group, and they will also teach a second class next week at a McDowell church and call the Dec. 8 Holiday Hoedown at the Bluegrass Ruritan building.

The level of coordination wasn’t always high, but the laughter and fun certainly were!

Several attendees were under the age of 60, which also means the program earned some income that can help it become more self-supporting as it develops.
