An Augusta County man was arrested today on federal cyberstalking charges after allegedly threatening to kill an unnamed victim who lived in Canada.

Nicholas Andrew McMillion, 25, of Fort Defiance, made his initial court appearance today in U.S. District Court in Charlottesville and is being held pending a detention hearing.

According to court documents, McMillion created more than 1,000 usernames on multiple online platforms, including Discord and Medal, for the express purpose of stalking and harassing the victim.

The victim and Medal customer support attempted to block McMillion, but through additional accounts, he was able to continue to harass the victim, according to court documents.

McMillion conveyed death threats, sexually explicit acts and threats of arriving at the victim’s physical location in Canada.

The harassment caused the victim to fear bodily harm or death from McMillion, the Department of Justice alleges in the court documents.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Sally Sullivan is prosecuting the case for the United States.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is investigating the case.
