The Tim Kaine Senate campaign launched its next TV ad, “Show Up,” highlighting Sen. Tim Kaine’s willingness to travel to every corner of the Commonwealth to listen to Virginians when his opponent will not.

The ad begins with highlighting Kaine’s opponent calling Staunton “podunk” and the drive down to Abingdon “ridonkulous.” The ad then touches on when Kaine was stuck in traffic on I-95 for 27 hours with only an orange in January 2022.

“Sen. Kaine knows how important it is to stand up and show up for Virginians across the Commonwealth, which is why he is always meeting with and listening to Virginians,” said Michael Beyer, Communications Director for Kaine for Virginia. “With his comments insulting Staunton and Abingdon, Sen. Kaine’s opponent has shown he can’t be trusted to represent all of the Commonwealth.”

Kaine celebrates 30 years in public office in 2024 and is running for re-election to the U.S. Senate in Virginia.

“To me, being Senator means showing up and standing up for you, even if it means being stuck in my car for 27 hours,” Kaine says in the ad.
