The Kaine for Virginia campaign launched its next TV ad, “Affordable,” which highlights the Senator’s work to bring down the cost of insulin to $35 and the cost of prescription drugs for all Virginians.

The ad begins with Margaret, a Springfield resident and type 1 diabetic, who tells her story of wanting to retire but the cost of insulin was “a huge concern” for her.

“This is what really counts to a lot of people out there,” Margaret says in the ad. “Having a Senator that makes life better for people, that’s how it should be.”

The ad spotlights Sen. Tim Kaine’s work to bring down the cost of insulin to $35 and to bring down the costs of all prescription drugs.

“Sen. Kaine knows that no Virginian should have to choose between lifesaving medication and paying for groceries or rent. That’s why he took on Big Pharma to cap the cost of insulin to $35 for seniors and is working so every person in the Commonwealth can afford insulin,” said Michael Beyer, Communications Director for Kaine for Virginia. “Sen. Kaine is laser-focused on lowering the cost of prescription drugs for all Virginians so they can have more room in their family budget.”

Kaine, who has served in public office for 30 years, is running for re-election to the U.S. Senate in Virginia.

Early voting has begun in Virginia. Election Day is Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
