Kaine for Virginia announced Sen. Tim Kaine‘s campaign for reelection to the U.S. Senate in 2024 has raised more than $2.9 million in the second quarter of 2024.

The funding amount is a record-breaking amount for the time period and the campaign has $7.7 million cash-on-hand. The amount is the largest fundraising for Kaine’s campaign in any Q2 in his Senate career, and the robust haul was fueled by his highest number of online donations in a quarter, with 21,093 individual donors contributing more than $1.1 million.

The numbers represent Kaine’s best grassroots fundraising quarter ever, showing how grassroots donors are fired up to re-elect Kaine.

“Virginians are rallying behind Sen. Tim Kaine because they understand what’s at stake this year and know that Sen. Kaine is defending reproductive freedom, fighting to lower costs and working to cut taxes for working families,” said Keren Charles Dongo, Campaign Manager for Tim Kaine. “This record-breaking quarter is more proof that Sen. Kaine’s record of listening to and standing up for all Virginians is resonating and it shows that Virginians know Tim Kaine fights for them in the U.S. Senate.”

In the record-breaking quarter, the average online donation was $31. Of the 31,140 contributions, 98 percent were for $100 or less.
