The Tom Perriello for Congress campaign is looking for a few good summer volunteers.

The campaign is accepting applications for its Common Good Summer Fellowship program. Perriello is the Democratic nominee in the Fifth District. He will challenge Republican incumbent Virgil Goode in the November general election.

“I am running to restore our nation’s commitment to the common good with a politics that focuses on right and wrong instead of right and left. We have designed an intensive summer fellowship program for college-aged people to reflect this new generation of leadership, building personal relationships with members across our great district,” Perriello said. “The program will offer young people a unique opportunity to play a major role in this election and to have a once-in-a-lifetime experience that will affect people’s lives in the fifth district for years to come.”

The program will have volunteers working to register new voters and work with voter groups in the Fifth District to get them energized for the Perriello campaign.

Eligible applicants must be registered to vote and hold a valid driver’s license. The program is a full-time commitment and runs from June 2 through August 16, 2008.

Applications are due on April 30. More information and the application may be found online at www.perrielloforcongress.com.
