The NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament is a college basketball championship for women. The tournament is held in March each year. It has gained popularity over recent years. The tournament offers a nice Golden Nugget bonus code as it comprises champions of different Division I conferences with automatic bids. A selection committee allocates the other slots to certain teams. Here are five memorable incidences in this year’s NCAA tournament.

1. Boise State Narrowly Lost in Overtime

Recently, Oregon State played against Boise State. Most people expected Oregon State to easily win the match but Boise State put up a tough game. Beaver nation took control of the largest part of the first half while Destiny Slocum’s team seemed to be out of control. However, Boise State charged back in the third quarter. Marta Hermida’s trees closed up the gap between the two teams. The match went to overtime but Marta’s team lost.

2. Shay Colley helped Michigan State Win Their Game

Michigan State and Central Michigan had a tight match. Taryn McCutcheon helped her team to have an early lead in the match. However. Presley Hudson and Frost ensured that Michigan State led with less than 12 points. Nevertheless, Shay Colley’s trees earned her team a late victory.

3. Chennedy Carter’s Stellar Performance

Chennedy Carter is a talented player. She is a sophomore in Texas A&M. Some people believe that college players ought to be grateful for being in their school’s teams. Carter proved her worth in the recent match between A& M and Marquette. She had five assists, nine rebounds, and 30 points while her closest rival, Natisha Hiedeman had seven assists, six rebounds, and 18 points. Carter helped Texas A&M win the match.

4. Sabrina Ionescu’s Triple-Double

Triple-doubles are common in most NCAA tournaments. Samantha Logic had one in the Sweet 16 in 2015 while Kaleema had another in the tournament’s second round in 2014. Sabrina is the current record holder in the NCAA tournament for single-season and career triple-doubles. She had another triple-double in last Sunday’s match against Indiana.

5. The Buffalo Bulls’ Performance against UConn

Buffalo Bulls are perceived to be underdogs. Most of its players are less than 6-feet tall while UConn has several talented players. Felisha Legette-Jack led the Buffalo Bulls to their match against the UConn. Despite having lagged behind for two quarters, Buffalo Bulls charged back at the end of the third quarter. They lost the match by 12 points.

The first rounds of this year’s NCAA women’s tournament had three overtimes and fun games. Most matches were toss-ups. The stars had a remarkable performance compared to the last tournament. Reyna Frost garnered 34 points for her team.
