AFP

shenandoah universityShenandoah University will host its second-ever Mindful Morning from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, in the James R. Wilkins, Jr. Athletics & Events Center. Participants can experience yoga, pilates and mindfulness sessions and connect with wellness professionals from throughout the region.

“Last year was our inaugural Mindful Morning event and we had close to 100 people participating with much positive feedback,” said Janet Gonzalez, organizer of the event. “So, we are doing it again. It is a true joy to have the community using the James R. Wilkins, Jr. Athletics & Events Center. This event is a great way to jump-start into a healthy routine in the new year, especially since we will have more than 20 wellness vendors participating and be raffling off some healthy giveaways.”

The Mindful Morning schedule includes yoga with Christa Joyce of Jala Yoga, pilates with Michelle Dowell of Pilates Connection, and mindfulness with Jill Donnelli-Hu of Dharma Studio, as well a chance to visit with area wellness-industry vendors who will offer free giveaways and sometimes free massages. Be sure to dress in comfortable clothes and bring a yoga mat or towel and a bottle of water.

The event is open to the public. Shenandoah students, faculty and staff may attend for free. The cost for all others is $5. Please register to attend at su.edu/athletics-and-events-center/mindful-morning. For questions, contact Janet Gonzalez at [email protected] or 540-665-4505.
