The Baltimore Ravens have signed first-round draft pick Lamar Jackson, the 2016 Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback from Louisville.
The deal is worth $9.5 million, with a $4.9 million signing bonus, and will run four years with a fifth-year team option, according to reports.
The Ravens traded up to select Jackson with the final pick in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft, sending second-round picks in 2018 and 2019 to Philadelphia.
Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome signaled that the move was made to get Jackson in the first round to be able to include that fifth-year team option in the deal.
Jackson is nominally third on the QB depth chart in Baltimore, behind starter Joe Flacco and another former Heisman winner, Robert Griffin III, who was signed in the offseason to compete for the backup role.
