Gov. Timothy M. Kaine today announced the expansions of six technology, distribution, and healthcare companies in Fairfax County. ACS State and Local Solutions, Beltway Supply Inc. Coveros Inc., Intec LLC, RightStar Systems and Senior Living.com are expected to create 334 new jobs over the next three years in Fairfax County.
“With our low cost of doing business and high quality of life, it’s no wonder Virginia companies are expanding their enterprises even in these tough economic times,” said Kaine. “These exciting business expansions and other growth over the last year help explain why Virginia’s unemployment rate is dropping and has consistently been among the lowest in the nation.”
The Virginia Department of Business Assistance worked with the Virginia Economic Development Partnership and the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority to secure the projects. The Virginia Department of Business Assistance will provide workforce consultation and training through the Virginia Jobs Investment Program.
“Addressing workforce needs is critical to business expansion projects and the Virginia Jobs Investment Program will develop customized services for each of these six companies,” said Lynda Sharp Anderson, director of the Virginia Department of Business Assistance. “Virginia’s Jobs Investment Program is currently helping more than 490 businesses retain or create jobs throughout the Commonwealth.”
“I am delighted that these companies are successfully growing in the county” said Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Chairman Sharon Bulova. “This is a testament to the efforts of Fairfax County and Virginia to serve as premier business locations, and to the work of many people to create the kind of community that attracts high-quality companies and helps them succeed.”
The six companies announcing expansions in Fairfax County are:
– ACS State and Local Solutions Inc., a technology company representing 175 new jobs and $1.9 million in new investment.
– Beltway Supply Inc., a distribution company representing 15 new jobs and $100,000 in new investment.
– Coveros, Inc. a technology company representing 30 new jobs and $213,000 in new investment.
– Intec LLC, a technology company representing 63 new jobs and $175,000 in new investment.
– RightStar Systems, a technology company representing 31 new jobs and $250,000 in new investment.
– Senior Living.com, a healthcare company representing 20 new jobs and $150,000 in new investment.
