Democratic challenger Gene Hart outraised incumbent Republican Matt Lohr in the summer quiet time in the 26th District race.
Hart reported campaign receipts of $20,402 in the July 1-Aug. 31 period, raising his fundraising total for the 2008-2009 campaign cycle to $79,577, according to an AFP analysis of the finance report he filed with the State Board of Elections this week.
Lohr raised $18,825 in July and August to push his fundraising total to $85,657 for the 2008-2009 cycle.
Hart reported spending of $64,966 for the 2008-2009 cycle and a cash-on-hand balance of $14,611 as of Aug. 31.
Lohr reported spending of $48,754 for the 2008-2009 cycle and a cash balance of $45,846 as of Aug. 31.
Lohr’s report included $39,775 from PAC and business and industry based outside the 26th District.
Hart reported $1,985 in PAC and committee money and $13,827 in in-kind contributions from 25th District Democratic candidate Greg Marrow under the line item office space.
