Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, has recently unveiled a pickup truck of electric makeup, a first of its kind Cybertruck. During an LA event, he revealed the truck amidst glitz and glamour. It comes in three different versions with range miles that differ between 250, 300 and 500 miles. The base model starts with a price of $39,900 as per Musk’s comments. Though the truck models were showcased, it is yet to be put into production. Once it is on the assembly production line, it will probably be released by 2021. Pre-orders would be taken up on the dedicated website of the company.

What Was Unveiled

It was a launch that was much hyped and awaited amongst fans, who enjoy playing free slots uk. Musk showcased the truck through different paces to demonstrate the rugged qualities of it. Chief of design of the company, Franz von Holzhausen, was asked to hit the truck’s door and he did so with a heavy tool that is a sledgehammer aiming to showcase the bulletproof body of the truck. There were demonstrations of how the Cybertruck can win a war between the Porsche 911 and the Ford F150. The demonstrations were taken as far as to have metal balls thrown at the windows. However, that is when the armoured glass gave way and shattered. Musk admitted that it was a flaw being corrected and stated that he would get it fixed in the final model.

The show was entertaining to the audience online as well as live at the venue, similar to how live dealer games provide entertainment to casino enthusiasts. Those who love their trucks as much as they like gambling at a casino would get choices amongst the range, towing capacity and speed build up; a driving experience that would be exhilarating, akin to wins at casino games.

Driving Range and Other Capabilities

The truck would come in three different versions. The base model would have range miles about 250, towing capacity about 7500 and capacity to build speed up to 60 mph under a time span of 6.5 seconds. This model would be priced at around $39,900.

  • The second version comes with a dual motor and all-wheel drive. It would give 300 miles in range, have a towing capacity of about 10,000 pounds and be able to take the speed up to 60 mph under a time span of 4.5 seconds. It would be priced about $10,000 higher than the base model.
  • The all-wheel-drive version with a triple motor would offer the maximum range in miles which is 500, and towing capacity would be 14000 pounds, and speed build-up would be about 60 mph in less than 3 seconds; this model would be priciest at $69,900. This version would be put to production only in 2022.

General Features of the Cybertruck

All models would be able to seat six adults comfortably. Body makeup would be of 30x cold-rolled stainless steel that is ultra-hard which was demonstrated with the smashing actions. Payload capacity would be of 3500 pounds, and storage space would be of 100 cubic feet. Vault length of the truck comprises of 6.5 feet and suspension extends 4 inches on either direction. The interiors are yet to be given a finer finishing in design but would feature a touchscreen of 17 inches in the dashboard’s centre.

The Inspiration Behind It

Musk stated that he had been thinking about a pickup truck model based on an electrical engine that would possess qualities such as torque of unseen proportions and air suspension that would be dynamic in nature. He had tweeted about it as early as 2012. By 2013 he had informed the media that there were plans in the offing for making one that could be categorised as a super truck. He, later on, published a master plan for the pickup in 2016. By 2017 he revealed that the event would happen in a time period of 18 to 24 months.

By 2018 he stated that the truck design was akin to a cyberpunk model, similar to what was showcased in Blade Runner. He stated that it would appeal only to certain people, but it was the most favourite project of his and he would be pushing work on the same. Even though it was a pet project of Musk, it also became a great opportunity for business to expand to another category for Tesla. Pickup sales have always been strong in the US and trucks are known to command selling prices that are higher than average as well as profit margins that are high.

The Appeal of the Tesla Pickup

This car would certainly come in the high-end segment for pickups. As owners in this category are known to spend with a generous budget, the company is confident that the budget range of $50,000 would be comfortable for the Cybertruck line-up that Tesla has in mind. People would be spending to haul other cars and accessories with this Cybertruck as well as support a lifestyle that they would see it fitting in, given that it is an electric model would certainly be a plus point.

Yes, you may find it weird that I am a writer, and yet I enjoy sports. I am a fan of cricket, board sports, horseback riding, and scuba diving! Cricket is a strenuous game, and I participate in events to help me keep fit. It requires some serious running, and it is a great way to improve hand-eye coordination. It comes natural to me to combine water activities. Since I am a scuba diver, I also take the time to do board sports. After seeing what is under the sea, it is best to glide on it, right? Scuba diving is what makes me think. It helps me reflect on life and the beauty of the world. Horseback riding and board sports, however, are my go-to activities if I am looking for action. They may not be serene, but they rock!
