The Waynesboro YMCA year-round competitive swim team, SMAC, (Shenandoah Marlins Aquatic Club) competed at the 52nd annual Pittsburgh Christmas Meet Dec. 13-15. Over 1,500 swimmers attended this very competitive swim meet from teams all across the Mid-Atlantic states. To enter the meet a swimmer needed to have an A time in the event they planned to swim.

The Harry F. Byrd Sr. Visitor Center at Big Meadows (mile 51 on Skyline Drive) in Shenandoah National Park will be open on winter weekends, weather permitting. Beginning Jan. 11, the visitor center will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays when the Skyline Drive is open.

Virginia made nine consecutive three-point attempts in the first half, finishing the period shooting 90.0 percent (9 of 10) from long range. Six different Cavaliers made at least one three-pointer in the game with senior guard Kelsey Wolfe (Germantown, Md.) connecting on 4-of-7.
