McDonnell signs utility ratemaking bill

Gov. Bob McDonnell this morning signed important legislation to improve the 2007 law that re-regulated electricity in Virginia. With the governor’s leadership while he was attorney general, the 2007 law adopted a new framework for regulating Virginia’s investor owned utilities, a framework aimed at protecting consumers from rate volatility and incentivizing urgently needed investment in new generation facilities.

Central Shenandoah EMS Council is now accepting nominations for its 2013 Regional EMS Awards program. This regional program consists of 11 state level EMS awards and two local awards. The regional recognition program honors the exceptional contributions of EMS providers in the Central Shenandoah Valley make to their communities.
