The UVa. baseball team has added a game to its 2013 schedule and will face Saint Peter’s at 3 p.m. Monday at Davenport Field. This game has been added to Virginia’s schedule because the Sunday contest at East Carolina was cancelled because of inclement weather.

The VMI men’s lacrosse team gave the United States Military Academy all it could handle Saturday afternoon at Michie Stadium. But a five-goal fourth quarter surged the Black Knights past the Keydets 14-8 in a nonconference matchup.

The No. 25 UVa. baseball team scored 13 runs over the last four innings to rally and knock off East Carolina, 13-9, Saturday on a cold, blustery day at Clark-LeClair Stadium in Greenville, N.C. The Cavaliers (2-0) trailed 4-0 after five innings before scoring the next 13 runs of the game.

Richard Crozier was born in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1944, and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Washington, Seattle in 1968. He has taught drawing and painting at the University of Virginia since receiving his Master of Fine Arts Degree from the University of California,Davis, in 1974.

During legislative sessions in Virginia there is far too much partisan bickering, currying to special interests and in recent years doing the things that appear on late-night comedy shows. These events tend to overshadow the amount of time that legislators work amicably together, regardless of political party and without personal gain, to solve complex problems to make the Commonwealth a better place to live. The negative forces at work in the legislature help to contrast the significant moments when statesmanship prevails.
