Virginia men’s head basketball coach Tony Bennett has announced the signings of center Jack Salt (Auckland, New Zealand/Westlake Boys High School), guard B.J. Stith (Lawrenceville, Va./Oak Hill Academy) and forward Isaiah Wilkins (Lilburn, Ga./Greater Atlanta Christian School) to National Letters of Intent with the Cavaliers.

Democrat Mark Herring is declaring victory and calling himself “attorney general-elect,” but Republican Mark Obenshain isn’t close to throwing in the towel. “No matter what Mark Herring says, with this margin, nobody can predict which of us will be sworn in as Virginia’s next attorney general. It still could go either way. There’s a lot at stake, and I’m not about to give up now,” Obenshain said.

Shenandoah Telecommunications Co. (Shentel), a PCS affiliate of Sprint, announced today the completion of its 4G LTE Network upgrade. The project, called Network Vision, mirrors Sprint’s plans for its national network and involved the replacement of all Shentel’s network equipment and antennas.

The Waynesboro Year Round Competitive Swim Team, SMAC, (Shenandoah Marlins Aquatic Club) competed at the Hokie Invitational Swim Meet in Christiansburg Nov. 8-10. Teams from northern Virginia to North Carolina attended the meet.
