Shenandoah National Park fire personnel have walked the entire Rocks Mountain Fire perimeter looking for areas that may still be burning. Firefighters did not detect any open flames or smoke within the burn perimeter; therefore, the Rocks Mountain Fire has been declared 100% contained.

There are a lot of citizens depending on the state to pass a budget before the July 1 deadline. House Republican Leadership has called for a special session after we pass the budget to debate the issues of ObamaCare’s Medicaid expansion on its merits.

Shenandoah National Park personnel have determined that the cause of the Rocks Mountain Fire was an illegal campfire. The fire, which was reported to the park at approximately 3:10 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28, had burned approximately 450 acres inside Shenandoah National Park.
